Yesterday evening we experienced some anxious, terrorising moments with a very strong earthquake, 7.9 on the ricter scale. Because the quake was inland there was also no threat of a tsunami. We are fine. No damage in our house and only minimal damage in Arica. I think that we were more shocked than anything. We live in a very safe area having our houses literally built upon a rock and our lives spiritually built upon The Rock - Jesus! You can not prepare for an earthquake, it just happens. We excperienced an earthquake 4 years ago which had an intensity of 7. This one was a lot stronger. Our friend, who has lived in this city for 50 years, said that it was the strongest quake that she has ever felt. Thanks for your prayers and concerns.

The Centre for Pastoral Studies (CEP in Spanish) strongly emphasises pastoral work and focuses on essencial tools for Christian ministry. Pastoral work consists in teaching people God’s plan for their lives so that they will both evangelise and make disciples. In other words, the fundamental component of pastoral work is communicating the message of the Bible. For this reason the purpose of the CEP is:
To give a deep and solid knowledge of the Scriptures
To develop in students the necessary abilities to reflect theologically on their social, cultural and spiritual surroundings, so that they may communicate the Bible’s message in a relevant and effective way
To prepare students to face Christian ministry as reflective thinkers and pragmatic planners, challenging them to develop creative and effective ministries

Peter Moore was in Chile. He tallked with leaders in the "Diocesan Course" at 2004. Here is an interview was made in November of 2004
How can one protect a theological seminary from postmodernism? The best way is to be sure that those who teach the Bible in the seminary are submitted to the Bible as the Word of God written, and who take the text very seriously as divinely inspired.
For us it is a first. We had held prayer and intercession times before, but never to the scale of this event on the 15th. We have permission from the authorities to hold a massive Day of Intercession outside the presidential palace. They have asked us to keep it to 2000 more or less. We have no way of knowing how many will show up as the publicity is out and we are now mobilising for double that amount. We pray in conjunction with the Global Day of Prayer started in South Africa. If statistics agree with reality over 200 million Christians will be praying all over the world. I should be a history making event and the Kingdom will spread in the nations.
Alexandra, Sharing the fruits of Faith with children
Alexandra, a missioner’s testimony: Sharing the fruits of Faith with children October, 2002
In 1997 Alexandra enters the Anglican congregation “La Trinidad” because of her brother Harry’s ‘fault’. Since that date Ale grows in her relationship with the Lord, which is expressed in her desire to go on a missionary trip. Just after turning 21, Ale, also known as ‘La Chica’ goes on missions to Juarez, Mexico, for 7 months. Up to this point she doesn’t know that this experience will leave a great mark in her Christian life, as she comments in this interview.
I welcome the opening of the Anglican Church of Chile’s (IACH) official website. The IACH is a Catholic, Apostolic and Reformed church called by God to be a testament to evangelism (the good news of salvation) of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are looking for the words of this message to become alive within the hearts of the people of this beautiful country that has so much history and culture. As Chilean Anglicans we are part of the community with the Archbishop of Canterbury, belonging to the Anglican church of South America which is one of the provinces of the worldwide Anglican community. Whatever would be your motivation to visit our site, I hope that it will be a blessing within your life.
Each member of Christ’s church must complete God’s purpose in his personal life as also in the community life of the church. Many great leaders of the church throughout its history have defined the main purposes of men as ´To give glory to God and delight in him forever´. Obedience is the great secret given to fulfil this request. Christ requires that his disciples will be faithful and trusting, will follow through baptism and openly confess their faith in the confirmation the promises made to the Lord in their baptism.
Whilst we further elaborate during this section the history of our church in Chile, we show extracts from the book ´we are Anglicans´, written by Barbara Bazley with some brief descriptions of our history. See also Chronograph of our history.
